CSV Import
Bulk import expenses or revenue from a spreadsheet.
Importing Expenses
- Go to Expenses and click Import CSV
- Upload your CSV file
- Map columns to HostFi fields (amount, date, category, description, property)
- Review the imported data
- Confirm to create all expenses at once
Importing Revenue
- Go to Revenue and click Import CSV
- Follow the same mapping and review process
CSV Format
Your CSV should include headers. HostFi will try to auto-detect common column names. At minimum, you need:
- Amount — The dollar amount
- Date — In a recognizable date format (MM/DD/YYYY, YYYY-MM-DD, etc.)
Optional but recommended:
- Category — Expense category
- Description — Notes or vendor name
- Property — Property name (HostFi will attempt to match to your existing properties)
Tips
- Export from your bank or accounting tool as CSV
- Clean up the data before importing — remove unrelated transactions
- The property matching works best when the names in your CSV match your HostFi property names exactly
